Alzheimer is a terrible disease that require a lot of support and love from those who suffer from it and those who live close to it.
Never forget your roots, your family is the most important.
Never neglect the older people, it's thanks to them that you're here.
Be connected!
“People think it's a terrible tragedy when somebody has Alzheimer's. But in my grandmother´s case, it's different. My mother has been unhappy all her life. ... For the first time in her life, she's happy.”
Charlton Heston
1924-2008
Hollywood movie legend dead at 84
LOS ANGELES (April 5, 2008) — Charlton Heston, the chisel-jawed Hollywood icon best remembered for his Oscar-winning performance in the 1959 epic "Ben Hur" died Saturday at his home, his family said. He was 84.
"No one could ask for a fuller life than his. No man could have given more to his family, to his profession, and to his country. In his own words, 'I have lived such a wonderful life! I've lived enough for two people.'"
He star as Moses in the blockbuster 1956 film "The Ten Commandments." He won the best actor award in William Wyler's landmark Roman chariot-racing epic "Ben Hur," where it was shot in the freeway most Californians know by now as I-405.
The cause of death was not released by the family. Although it was known in the media circle that he was battling with Alzheimer's disease in recent years.
I grew up watching the Ten Commandments so many times. The famous quote that I love from that film is this:
"So It Shall Be Written, So It Shall Be Done."
would like to say that my grandmother has both alzheimer's and dementia. Watching her trying to cope with the muscle degeneration and remembering how she was a headstrong and healthy woman and seeing her now all frail and unable to do anything for herself, my heart just breaks looking at her. I want to show my support in this campaign and hope that more awareness will be raised about this disease. I also want to let her know that she is not alone and that no matter what, even if i'm miles away from her, i'm mentally with her throughout this battle. Love you grandma!
